Sustainability
We are working towards a better future for people, for our clients, our employees and for society in general.
We include ESG criteria in all of our operations
At the Armando Alvarez Group we are not only governed by economic criteria, but also by social, environmental and good governance criteria. These non-financial criteria, also known as ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance), impact both our companies and our environment, and it is essential to take them into account when making corporate decisions in order to achieve long-term sustainable development.
The Group identifies those social, environmental and governance areas that are linked to our activity and operations, with the aim to strategically integrate them in our value creation model.
As proof of our commitment, we joined the United Nations Global Compact in 2018 and we have been singled out as an example of good practises regarding climate change and circular economy in the Progress Communication report, published by the UN Global Compact in 2022.
We look to the future based on cooperation
At the Armando Alvarez Group we support the 10 Principles of the UN Global Compact regarding the respect of Human Rights, compliance with labour regulations, the prevention of corruption and the protection of the environment.
We have incorporated the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as a Group and we are working on this basis to continue to grow in the markets where we participate, while at the same time contributing with our activity to building a more inclusive, fair and sustainable society.

Goals of the 2030 Agenda
As private sector, we are called to play a fundamental role in the United Nations’ roadmap. In 2020 we established specific, ambitious and realistic goals to be achieved within a certain timeframe, the 2030 Agenda. Participating in this action plan provides us with a clear direction on where we are headed, and allows us to focus our effort and resources on the most relevant SDGs for our main activity, which is processing plastic materials.
Year after year we analyse and publish the evolution of achievement compared to the established goals, allowing us to optimise and correct the actions and resources invested over the short-, medium- and long-term.
Evolution
Use of sustainable materials that make products more efficient with a lower environmental impact.
We use ECOdesign to reduce the amount of materials used per packed unit, always preserving quality and safety.
Recovery and reuse of waste products.
This issue has become a strategic option with a clear goal to promote circularity.
Hazardous waste
Inert waste
Investment in our production system and the materials and technologies used, as well as good practises to reduce energy consumption and to improve efficiency.
We have received Carbon Neutral Certification, which means we offset 100% of our emissions thanks to the extensive plantations managed by Alvarez Forestal, one of the Group companies
