We have chosen a transition model towards a circular economy that will guarantee sustainable growth over time, promoting natural resource optimisation, reducing the use of raw material and reusing waste products by recycling and giving them new life.
Climate change and emissions
We have established the goal to become carbon-neutral year after year for the 2030 Agenda.
We work towards balancing our carbon emissions with specific actions that offset or reduce them. Combining internal and external action, we ensure that our impact on the environment is as low as possible.
We are carbon neutral
For the third consecutive year, we have received Carbon Neutral Certification as we offset 100% of our 2023 emissions thanks to the extensive plantations managed by Alvarez Forestal, one of the Group companies.
DECARBONISATION
Our next step towards a sustainable future.
We support the global initiative CARBON DISCLOSURE PROJECT (CDP) since 2022.
At the Armando Alvarez Group we are fully aware of the current challenges regarding emissions and climate change. We determine the environmental impacts caused by the Group companies, and we implement different steps to reduce our emissions and minimise the impact that our activities may have on the surroundings.
For the second year in a row we participated in the CDP project, a powerful initiative that involves companies, investors and governments in a joint effort to publicise, measure and manage carbon emissions. By joining forces, all of the stakeholders can identify areas for improvement and opportunities to reduce our carbon footprint.
We continue to promote change, guided by our determination to build a more sustainable world, facing the environmental challenges head-on.
Sustainable and efficient resources
Within our ongoing improvement strategy, we work to ensure an efficient use of the resources and raw materials that we use in our production processes. We promote a culture of environmental awareness among employees, because participation by all of the organisation members in identifying opportunities for savings and implementing sustainable practises is key to achieving significant results.

We preserve biodiversity
We know it is important to maintain and preserve natural ecosystems and the species living there in order to guarantee a sustainable future. To achieve this goal, we have implemented a wide range of measures and policies that prove our commitment to environmental protection.
We perform a prior analysis of the significant direct and indirect impacts on biodiversity, taking into account the effects on vegetation and fauna, the landscape, changes in air quality and nuisances to the surrounding population.
